Corrections Deputy

LPSO takes pride in the operation of LPCC for the safety of the public as well as the safety of our deputies. In this career, you take first line responsibility for the care, custody, and control of offenders. Other duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: participate in secure and safe inmate movements and activities, serve meals, provide security for housing areas, interact professionally with offenders and the public, conduct headcounts, and other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Hours: 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am (rotating each month), Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (off all other days in a 2 week period).

Mental Health Professional

In this career, you work as a team to implement psychological services programs for offender/participants with mental health and/or substance abuse issues within the Lafayette Parish criminal justice system including but not limited to crisis intervention, long-term, short-term, group therapies, psychological assessments, and more. Most offender/participants are self-referred, while some are sent by staff, or are advised by the courts or parole boards to seek treatment.  Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday, one week of 24 hour on call rotation including nights and weekends.

Qualifications: Licensed Counselor (LPC) or Social Worker (LCSW), or working towards licensure. Graduation from a master’s degree program with emphasis in counseling or social work or behavior modification/management from an accredited college or university. School Crossing Guard

A school crossing guard is needed for Green T. Lindon Elementary School located at 603 Avenue B Youngsville, LA.  Duties of this position include monitoring street crossing of pedestrians and direct vehicular traffic as needed.  A reflective vest, stop sign, and other required gear will be provided.

Hours:  7:15 am to 8:15 am and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on school days.

Requirements:  Reliable transportation to and from work site and availability of above hours.
